I discovered you on Quartet with John Petersen and always love your point of view. In this piece I love how you drill down past all the nonsense to an essential core of what we should all pay attention to. I am picking up on your appreciation of Steiner and wonder if you can suggest a good introduction for a beginner. Many years ago my daughter attended a Waldorf school and I joined the Steiner study group but find it very dense and difficult to read. That being said I have grown in the 35 years since and am really curious to read some Steiner as he seems to come up in my radar quite a bit lately.

Hello Carole - thank you for your message, and good to see you here! Yes, Steiner can be dense at times.... I first read him about 25 years ago yet it didn't stick with me...it took another 20 years to really 'find' him. For a personal 'starter' book, I'd suggest 'Knowledge of Higher Worlds' ... and then as a further book to delve into some of his themes, I would perhaps suggest: 'The Fall of the Spirits of Darkness' .... Good travels! :-)

Thank-you! I have found the first one on the Rudolf Steiner archives. Looking forward to it.

I have been consciously developing my capacity to become aware of the realm beyond, or adjacent to, the material world of the senses... so for instance, instead of seeing Nature as some 'thing' in the external world, I begin to feel it as a presence, dense with life and consciousness.

I had an interesting experience recently in a very high-end supermarket ... far from being desirable, I realised everything on the shelves felt and looked 'dead', even the so-called fresh produce. This 'shift in perception' was both alarming, and at the same time a confirmation of a deeper truth about the 'reality' I have been programmed to believe I'm living... thank you for writing so clearly about these matters and giving a wider context for understanding what it means to 'awaken'.

Thanks Nina - and yes, a good example you gave ... when our perceptions are sharpened we perceive more of this 'inversion' that is around us .... how 'life' is elsewhere, and not in the commodity market or game ... and the more we begin to see through the veil, the more the crack will widen!

Fucking excellent article! You are absolutely correct that the awareness is growing amongst the populace, think the enforced solitude of Covid lockdowns will end up being the genesis for humanity’s great awakening, know it helped to accelerate my awakening and awareness.
