Great article.

But few are those who tread the sunlit path;

Only the pure in soul can walk in light.”

― Sri. Aurobindo, Savitri

It takes some kind of quantum leap forward in being simple enough to communicate the simplicity of what is felt in a sea of words intelligence artificial or other.

Yes, Ash - it does seem that the sunlight path is for the few, relatively speaking ... being simple - being in the essential - means stripping away the excess garbage ... keep walking, pilgrim!

* "There are sources where the reader can turn to if they wish to learn more about the history and uses of active imagination. Here, I make only a suggestive reference for the attentive reader. " Can you suggest some sources please, Kingsley. 🙂

Hi Stephen - there are classic sources as such through Shihab al-Din al-Suhrawardi, Ibn Arabi, Henri Corbin, William Blake, Goethe, and more.... yet perhaps it might be best to try through more recent steps, as with Owen Barfield, Henri Bortoft... a summary of this can be found in Gary Lachman's 'Lost Knowledge of the Imagination', which may be beneficial as a guide before stepping into the more ancient esoteric sources...

Ahh, thanks Kingsley. I read 'The Lost Knowledge of the Imagination' a few years ago and found it illuminating! Owen Barfield and Henri Bortoft I've not read as yet but will follow these up and see where it leads. I'm presently exploring some of the 'New Thought' authors, Genevieve Behrand, Thomas Troward, Neville Goddard and Dr Joseph Murphy in relation to how thoughts and beliefs (which I assume are somewhat synonymous with imagination) in the conscious, rational part of the mind influence the subconscious mind to manifest these in the external reality. 'What is within is without', 'as above so below', etc. Thanks for sharing your valued, illuminating perspective on human growth and evolution. I look forward to your future observations. 😁
